Fat Friday #6 Mint Ice Lollies Dipped with Dark Chocolate

Totally made it to week 6! Who have thought?! Ha! I'm typing this just under 24 hours until me and my other half fly off on holiday to Tenerife. Aww don't get jealous, I'll be instagramming all the way, that's the time to get green-eyedI'll see you when I get back from holiday! Woo! I'll do my best to keep posing while I'm away!
Right back to this week,  I thought I'd go with some ice lollies to cool you down in the fading summer sun. This are mint infused creamy ice lollies don't have to be made with whole milk. They can be made with different types of milk and cream. Soy products and other dairy free options can be substituted but it will affect the end lolly result in terms of creaminess. (Please note i couldnt get my 10 year old laptop to work so no introduction photo. Will have to wait for now. Sorry :/)

Recipe: (Recipe adapted from the Telegraph Website)
  • 40 fresh mint leaves
  • 560ml whole milk
  • 150ml double cream
  • 130g granulated sugar
Equipment:
  • Saucepan
  • Fine Sieve
  • Spoon
  • Ice Lolly Mold (Best I've lolly mold ever used. Also comes with 24 lolly sticks)
  • 10 wooden Lolly Sticks
  • Freezer
  • Bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Large Airtight Container lined with baking paper (make sure it can fit in the freezer! I made that mistake and this resulted in half melted lollies
  • Baking paper
  • Scissors

1.Crush the mint leaves a little with the back of a spoon. This will squish the juices out of mint to create a super mint lolly.
2.Put the milk, cream and sugar in a saucepan and bring almost to the boil.
3.Remove the pan from the heat and add the mint leaves. Cover and allow to cool. This allows the mint leaves to infuse. The longer you do this the better the mint leaves will infuse and the minter (is that a word?) the lollies will be.
4.Strain the mixture through a fine sieve, pressing down on the leaves with the back of a spoon again to get all the minty-ness out.
5.Fill the ice-lolly moulds enough so you leave about 1/4 cm gap. This is to allow the mixture to expand but not split the lolly mold.
6. Place the the ice-lollies in the freezer for about 1 hour and then insert the sticks. Place back into the freezer for about 8 hours.
7. Check the ice-lollies are completely frozen. If they are, then melt the chocolate in a bowl, over a pan of hot water or in the microwave.
8. Line a few air tight containers with baking paper, and cut out extra squares if you are putting lollies on top of other lollies. This is so that they don't stick together.
9. Get a sheet of baking paper and remove the lollies from the molds by dipping them in warm water. Drizzle the chocolate with a spoon to make really cool zig-zag patterns.
10. Quick as you can put the lollies in the prepared air tight containers and place back into the freezer.

What is your favourite cold treat on a hot day? See you when I'm tanned!

Penny'sTop Ten Tips #2 Planning the Perfect Picnic

Welcome to the second Penny's Top Ten Tips! To start with, a few weekends back was the first time I ever went on a picnic. That's right. I've never been on one! My boyfriend was down for the weekend and he thought that was so sad that we decided to go for it and plan a picnic!
In Hyde Park, London no less. We went on a sunny Saturday afternoon with a couple of bottles of cider, a cheapy mini bottle of prosecco and some foodie goodies. So learning from this wonderful experience here is my tip tops for planning the perfect picnic.

1. Check your location-
The ideal location for your picnic should have a lot of room for your group to eat and maybe play some games. Locations such as a park, beach or a really big back garden near your house.

2.Check the weather-
There's nothing worst then getting to your picnic spot and its just about to pour down with rain. Not fun. Once you've confirmed your ideal, check the weather and keep yourself updated. If the weather is terrible for your chosen day you may need to, -dare I say it-, take a rain-check!

3. Have a 'basics' list-
I do love lists. In fact this will end up being a list within a list. That's how much I love lists. This one is my personal picnic list, that is a fail safe. Your basic picnic list should be remembered or written down on some cute stationary and add any extra items accordingly:
           *Blanket
           *Bottle opener
           *Plastic cups
           *Disposable cutlery and plates
           *Napkins
           *Straws
*A spare plastic bag to get rid of rubbish
           *Cool bags/Ice Box
           *Camera

4. Keep in mind how many people are you catering for. I say this as very often many picnic goers pack too much food and much of this is thrown away and wasted. I don't know about you but I can't stand wasting food. To avoid this pack only what you need. For hungry two people for example, 2 sandwiches each, 2 drinks, 2 water bottles, 4 cookies each, 1 cake slice, 1/4 quiche slice and 2 packets of crisps. I mean its up to you what you bring as its your picnic. My ideal picnic foods are Pissaladiere, Chocolate Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cheese and Tomato QuicheChocolate Cola Cake and sandwiches made with my Assessment Bread

5. Food needs cooling-Cool bags are your friend!
If your location is on public transport taking a massive cool box may not be visible. If your taking a car, then by all means go for it. If your having a small picnic that requires some travel then cool bags are a life saver. You can turn any back-pack into a portable-fridge with enough these cool bags! They will keep the food as fresh as possible while traveling.

6.Pack only what you need-
I suppose I've made this point once already in step 4 but I'm talking about the extra stuff. I'm talking about the Ipad, the miniature stereo, the extra pair of flip-flop shoes, the other blanket, and a kitchen sink because you never know. This is a bit exaggerated of course but don't over-pack with stuff that you will not use.

7.Protect yourself!-
Sitting in bright, warm weather is a simple pleasure in life. Moments like that can be ruined by sunburn. Sunblock, sun-glasses and hats if the weather is scorching hot. I know you've heard this all before but sunburn pain is not worth it. You'll thank me for it later.

8. Live in the moment-
Enjoy the day for what it is and try not to live on your phone. Its a hard habit to break not to keep updating your facebook status  or posting an awesome picture of your picnic food every five minutes (both which I'm guilty of). Don't get me wrong take some pictures, and actually enjoy the picnic-Right there and then- rather than in cyberspace. You can always upload pictures when you go home.

9. Stay hydrated- Always bring a bottle of water with you on a hot day. Keep your water levels up to avoid de-hydration. Common sense really.

10. Have some games planned-
Frisbee, volleyball, football, rugby, the possibilities are endless. Some other games including my personal favourite which my friends Sofia and Farah introduced me to is: Snog, Marry or Throw off a Cliff. Sofia and I played this game whilst in Disneyland Paris to pass the time while waiting for the Disney Dreams Firework Show. It requires nothing but the imagination. You can play with as many people as you like as well.
How it goes is someone picks a theme such as Disney Villains.
The other players must decide on 3 people for the first player to either kiss/snog, marry or throw of a cliff. The first player has to come up with an answer and a reason why they would pick that person and then is moved on to the other players. If a player refuses to answer then they are out of the game. There are no winners or losers but its so funny to play.

Example: Disney Villains
Other Players: Who would Snog, Marry or Throw off the Cliff... Javar? Captain Hook? or Doctor Facilier, AKA"The Shadow Man"?

First Player: Seriously? Fine.... I'd marry Captain Hook cause he has a boat... Snog Doctor Facilier cause he's... kinda hot? And I'm throwing Javar off the cliff because he's a moron. ..

Its always such a laugh to play this, mix it up by adding real celebrities, Harry Potter characters, anyone that you feel is cringy enough to make people squirm.

This is the last unofficial point in the post, remember to leave the place as you found it. Pick up any bits of rubbish and pack up everything so your perfect picnic spot is ready for the next person to enjoy.

What's been your favourite picnic location?

Baking Basics 101 Creaming Butter and Sugar

Hello and welcome to the first Baking Basics 101! This week we're focusing on the method of creaming.

Creaming is used in most cupcake and cake recipes. It's the method of mixing a fat and sugar together until the the mixture turns really light and fluffy. Nowadays everyone uses electric hand whisks, but it can be achieved with a classic wooden spoon.
Unsalted butter and caster sugar are the most commonly used in cakes. But other types of fat can be used such as margarine, or lard. The same goes for sugar, sweetener, and other varieties of sugar can be used.

Equipment Needed:
  • Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon/Electric Hand-Whisk
  • Micro-wave

Step by Step Example: Caster Sugar and Unsalted butter

Step 1. Warm Unsalted Butter
Step 1. Place your unsalted butter in a microwavable bowl. If the butter is still fridge cold, pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds. It should be warm because this way it's easier to work with.

Step 2. Caster Sugar in the same bowl as the Unsalted Butter
Step 2. Next place the caster sugar in the same bowl and begin to beat with a wooden spoon or an electric whisk until the mixture changes to a light yellow.

Step 3. Your looking for  a colour change and a fluffy texture.
Step 3. When all the sugar and butter has been thoroughly combined. Your looking for a lighter colour and for a fluffy texture.

That's all there is to creaming! There are so many recipes that this can be used in. Go over to the Recipe Index to see them all but here are some of my favourites that use the creaming method:
50 Cupcakes for a 50th Birthday (Chocolate and Lemon Cupcakes)
Valentine Heart Biscuits
Red Velvet Cake with Blue Lacy Butterflies

Monday Catch-Up: The First One

This blog has always been focused on recipes and is expanding into bigger and better things. I'm introducing a weekly catch-up with you readers. You know to make sure you're all doing ok and to keep you all informed on the weekends going ons and the forthcoming week in the world of Cupcakes, Cake and Passion.

Not much has been going on this weekend, on Saturday I found myself down the beach all by myself. I wasn't there for any reason apart from fresh air. As my walk along the seafront continued I noticed people constantly recording on phones, instagramming photos etc. All of which we are guilty of and there isn't anything wrong with that. But for that moment, staring at the sea, listening to the soothing sound of the waves, I thought its nice to have a break from all the tech. For a few precious minutes, I was without a camera/smartphone, and just enjoyed a relaxing moment by myself. I gathered strange looks when I started writing these thoughts down in an old school paper and pen kind of way. If you take away anything from this post is that its fine to have a break from life, step away from the mobile and just take a moment to enjoy life.

Its been a long time coming really. I mean, we all knew that it was bound to happen at one stage. Also, I found that some of you readers also wanted something different so I'm going to be posting reviews of restaurants. Because why not?! As a foodie I go to as many restaurants as I can get too, but of course meals out cost money so it won't necessary be a weekly thing (oh I wish!). I'll be posting as much as I can, whenever I can. So watch this space!

Also introducing another new feature: Baking Basics 101. Kind of what it says in the title...The inspiration came to me when I was sitting in a cafe in Dorset about a year ago, discussing with my boyfriend's mum about the joy of baking.

We were both chatting over coffee and pecan pie in a vibrant, busy cafe. Comparing recipes and techniques etc, when she mentioned that she knows quite a few people who can bake. Which is in contrast to me, I know a few people who dabble in baking, are too scared to bake for me because their scared I'll slaughter their skills or can't do so at all. I'm sure that many of you reading this post are thinking: "Basics *pffftt* I know what I doing!"
Or maybe, just maybe, a little secretly perhaps, that you would like a little 101 on the baking front.
Sometimes its good to brush up on the basics, to remind oneself that baking is both a science and an art (Woo check me out with the 'oneself'). The methods I'm going to show you are well known and commonly used in home and professional kitchens. Hopefully, we'll be covering everything you will need to know about baking.
Simply put, I'm going to be posting as often as I can, dedicated going back to the basics of baking. If there's a particular method you would like to know about then comment below, tweet or facebook me with the hashtag #bakingbasics101

Another thing that is happening is that I'm packing to go on holiday! I'm off to Tenerife with my boyfriend on our first ever overseas holiday. We've saved up super hard to afford it and we're super excited. Woo! Hopefully, the hotel will have wi-fi so I can post some pics on instagram

Happy Monday and see you on Wednesday for the first Baking Basics 101.

Fat Friday #5 Mini American Style Pancakes

I'm working from a 10 year old laptop so forgive me if the font on the pictures are a little odd and I can't fix it, but I didn't want you readers to miss out on this weeks Fat Friday! I'm soon moving to Portsmouth, but had to leave tons of my stuff in London, including my laptop so editing is taking ages. But I'm not going to hold out on you guys so lets get straight to it.

This weeks Fat Friday involves American style pancakes but there super mini pancakes!!! I was going to name these super kawaii mini pancakes because there so cute and teeny. If I did call them that I think the title picture would have looked like this:

Woah... I think this is how unicorns see the world. This picture is a little too sugar coated, even for me. I'll stick to the original image...

These are so yummy and can be customised to suit your taste. You like whipped cream? Whip it on them. Chocolate sauce? Just slap it on. For me, its caramel brought back from France (Thanks Rob sugar ;) ). Wow that makes me sound so middle class...

These pancakes are pretty easy and quick to make. Since there mini ones they can be served as a breakfast or a dessert. As an extra added bonus they can be frozen for about a week in an air tight container with baking paper in between them. Defrost them in the fridge overnight for at least 6 hours. They won't be as good as fresh but can be heated gently in the microwave for a minute, depending on your microwave.

Recipe: Serves 4 greedy people so watch your fingers (Recipe Adapted from the Student Cookbook by Sam Stern)
  • 110g plain flour
  • 50g melted butter, plus a little extra
  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 150ml milk
  • 10g caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Your choice of topping: cream, raspberry sauce, whatever you like.
Equipment:

  • Bowl
  • Jug
  • Hand whisk/(Electric hand-whisk-if your too lazy to whisk egg whites by hand)
  • Frying pan
  • Sift
  • Fork

1. Separate the eggs into two different bowls.
2.Beat the yolks, milk and butter with a fork.
3. Sift the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a separate bowl.
4. Add the wet mix slowly into the dry mixture and whisk until the batter is smooth.
5.Whisk the egg whites until fluffy and stiff. Fold into the pancake batter.
6.Brush a heated frying pan with melted butter and drop tablespoons of batter into the pan.
7. Leave room in between each one and cook until the bottoms are brown and it begins to bubble. Turn and cook until puffy and golden.

Have an epic weekend, enjoy the weather (even if its rainy) and Happy Baking!

Penny Top Ten Tips #1 Graduation Week Tips

Welcome to week 1 of Penny's Top Ten Tips. What to focus on this week? As it's graduation season, I thought I would put up some advice from someone who has got through the university process. Its also a kind of wrap up of the last 4 years of balancing work, socialising and studying. The only way to describe it is like finishing a chapter of a book and moving onto the next one.

So that was uni. Also just like to point out I graduated with a 2:1, I know-I'm just so amazing (ha! Don't lie Penny).

So follow these tips on how to deal with leaving university and your graduation.

1. Attend your graduation-

My class had a lot of international students. From Hong Kong to Romania, they all made the effort to come together and celebrate as a class. I really recommend going as its a good opportunity to celebrate with family, friends and classmates. Also you get to dress up like a super hero and wear a cheeseboard on your head... very pretty.

2. Attend your graduation ball (or another night out with classmates)-
I can't describe how much fun my graduation ball was. I got my arms done all with snowflakes, I got to see a snake, I saw a lion dance- and had a little too much to drink. Wild night. It was such an enjoyable night. If in the unlikely event that your university doesn't do a grad ball then organise a night out for you and your classmates yourself!

3. Stay calm-
Its very easy to get stressed out with graduation ball and your graduation. Make sure that your super organised and that everyone knows what they are doing. I had to organise 4 people who were arriving at different times to get to one venue. Its not easy but it can be done especially if everyone knows what the plan is. Also, don't get upset when one of your party forgets the plans. No matter how many times you explain the plan, you will have to explain it one more time.

4.Get emotional-
University is a massive part of a students life. It eats up 3 to 4 years of your life and all of a sudden its not there anymore. Its completely normal to cry or go a bit crazy with excitement because, (unless you're doing a post graduate degree), you only get to do graduate once.

5 Enjoy your moment-
Your graduation should be a selfish moment. You've worked so hard, so yes, you deserve it.

6 Don't lose touch-

Keep in contact with classmates, friends, tutors, and even the university. Most universities have a alumni, which is when you finish you will always be part of the university and can still offer career services. Send the odd email or even better send a letter. People love getting post :)

7 Enjoy that last student summer...-
This is the only summer you may get as a student, so really enjoy it. Go on holiday, see as many friends as you can and live in the moment. You get this opportunity to really enjoy yourself before the full-time job sets in.

8...But don't forget to look for a job-
While your enjoying your summer, put aside one hour dedicated to career-time. This can be updating your LinkedIn profile, organising your CV,general job searching and networking. It will save you the panic, when you're asked: "So have you got a job yet?"

9 Arrange a meet-up in a year-
Its sort of like a university reunion, send out a message hinting to meet up with everyone at a suitable location. (Maybe at the university students union?) It will be nice to see everyone in a year to see what you have all been up too!

10. It will be a mixture of a feelings...it totally normal-
You may feel overwhelmed, excited, or down because its all over. The journey you did a few years ago has finished. Its the end of an era. Its been such a big part of your life that its hard to let go of it. You may find yourself walking away from the graduation and thinking: "Was that it? Its over?" Its sad but there is so much to look forward to. Holidays, a new career, moving out of your parents house, and well, moving out into the big wide world!

Congratulations and thank-you to all of my classmates, tutors and friends for making my years at university and graduation special. Do you have any tips for planning a graduation?

The only place to gorge yourself with 'good for the soul' food. This week its a pretty simple recipe, all the credit goes to Mary Youngkin, who writes Barefeet in the Kitchen Blog, for coming up with this amazing recipe. I've just translated the recipe from cups to grams. These cookies are accidently gluten-free and are full of peanut butter. I mean this is peanut butter on steroids. Its peanut butter overload....What I'm trying to say is its reallllllyyyyy peanut buttery.

Also another bonus for these cookies is that they take 5 minutes to make and about 20 minutes to bake. 25 minutes, so you've got no excuse not to bake!

  • 250g Smooth peanut butter
  • 200g Golden caster sugar

  • Wire rack

1. Preheat the oven to 180c/350f/Gas Mark 4. Line the baking sheet with silicone paper.
 2. Mix all the ingredients together in a big bowl with a wooden spoon, until smooth .

New Weekly Feature(s)

Now that I've got some more time, I'm going to be posting a lot more. I'm hoping twice weekly but as my job is quite demanding and with me going on holiday soon AND starting another patisserie course, it may be once a week. But hey, I'm well organised so at least once a week should be do-able.

This is the introduction post to two brand new weekly features: Penny's Top Ten! and Fat Fridays! (Aren't you that excited? What do you mean 'no'?! GO SIT IN THE CORNER!)

Lets start out with Fat Fridays. I'm giving full credit to one of my work colleagues, Lucy Madz, for coming up with the name. (She calls it Fat F**k Fridays but since I've got a varied age range of readers, I'm keeping it clean) Once a week I'll be posting a recipe of something indulgent, yummy, and just, for one day, if you follow a healthy diet, tossing it out of the window. Here is week 1, week 2, and week 3 Fat Friday so far. Which features Raspberry Roulade, Doughnuts and French Toast.

The second feature I'd like to introduce to you which will be making a weekly appearance is Penny's Top Ten! To break up the masses of recipes on here, this weekly feature will be a list of 10 points on any subject. I'm thinking for the first week maybe something related to a graduation since I've fully graduated like ohhh 3 weeks ago? Still haven't done a round up of it yet. But that's the joys of working full time, you don't get tons of time to blog!

Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks

Businesses v.s Bloggers (Two News Articles that Made Me Face-Palm)

I came across this news article a couple of days ago and I could not help but laugh a little at how face-palmingly silly some people can get. I'm thinking of doing some restaurant reviews myself soon, so I really want to vent my own feelings on reviews.

Basically, the first article is about a UK based blogger who posted a bad review about a shoe shop in Ireland. The bad review itself was the second link after the shoe shops homepage on Google and of course, the owner of the shoe shop was outraged and claimed that if had affected his business. He could not produce any evidence that he was affected financially, however. The end result was that the shoe shop and blogger did resolve the issue, but a link to a forum where the shoe has been slated is still searchable on Google. I'm happy that the issue was resolved to a certain degree...

And then I found this other link, again on the BBC news website.
A French blogger was fined [!!] because her bad restaurant review was "too prominent on Google". The restaurant owners claimed that the review was financially hurting their business.

So many things to vent, about both articles! But mainly the second one.
Image from: brandeducationservices.com
Firstly about both articles, was the service at the shop and the restaurant that bad? I mean that bad, that you needed to write a scathing review about them? This could have all been avoided if the bloggers took a step back and went: "Is what I'm saying necessary?" In this day and age, one crappy review can indeed affect a business. Look at the reviews on TripAdviser or Yelp, some are helpful and honest. And there are some are just that so outrageously bad and harsh that you can't take them seriously. This is a classic example, I recently read a restaurant review that had 4 stars on Tripadvisor, but failed to met that 5th star because it had a view of the highstreet... The restaurant address is on the highstreet, that can't be helped...think before you write.

Most professional bloggers or reviewers, I'm sure know how to write a critical review without being rude or disrespectful.

In saying that however, if a restaurant or a shop etc, did have a bad food/service/whatever, then fair enough. Bloggers should be able to write whatever they want to without being punished for honest opinion. I'd like to think that all bloggers are open and honest enough to write a decent and balanced review, whether the blogger is nice or not. Damaging a business owners' ego is not a crime.

The fact that in the second article got taken to court and fined for an honest review is, ridiculous. Her review was popular on search engines. She should not be punished because its popular on the internet. What would happen if, every single bad review ever typed, got challenged and taken to court? It would be a waste of time and money. Rather then taking on bloggers and critiques', isn't it better to improve on what they were commenting on in the first place? Is it not better to look in on a business and think "Ok why did they say this about my business? Is there something I can improve on?"

I think what I'm trying to say that, rather then placing blame one party, blaming a bad review, a judge, the business owners, the bloggers, whoever! There are lessons to learn from both articles:
  • Never underestimate the power of the online world, it can make or break you.
  • Bloggers have got be as honest as they can be without completely trashing a place and ruining its reputation or compromising their writing.
  • Business owners, if you get a bad review on Yelp (/insert other reviewing website here), respond in a respectful way. Really think about the comments and take some time to think how you would respond. You want to remain the professional business person you are.
  • Again business owners, if your doing a good job and 99.9% of your customers are happy, one review will not 'financially ruin' you.
  • Also, not everyone is going to like you. Blogger or business owner. The fact is there will always be a professional complainer out there, who is ready to tear you a new one. Respond politely and professionally.
But what do you think of the articles? Should bloggers and reviewers be more considerate towards hard-working business owners? Should search engines be blamed? Are these business owners taking these reviews to heart? or are they really being affected financially?
I'd love to hear you thoughts on this venting post, so leave a comment below.

Fat Friday Week 3: Easy French Toast

Its that's time of week again... Its Fat Fridays on Cupcakes, Cake and Passion. Check me out with being so consistent! I'm thinking of making this a regular thing now since, its been 1 and 2 weeks now. I'm getting a more organised and more consistent with posting, now that uni is finished *phew*. I've had so many ideas for the blog that I've adopted a little notebook to jot the ideas down before my sieve-y mind forgets. Right, back to this weeks Fat Friday recipe.

I'm packing up my stuff to move from London down to Portsmouth to move in with my boyfriend. How do pack an entire wardrobe in one case, hmm. I'll have to work that somehow. But this is why I'm going for an easy quick recipe that can be prepped, cooked and served in a matter of minutes.

Classic French Toast is something I thought I had never made before, that is, until I saw the recipe! Its eggy bread (a savoury stale bread dish), which is something my Grandad eats! So I'm guessing this isn't a modern idea. Anyways, French Toast (also known as Pan Perdu *I think that's how its spelt* *Checks Google* Yes that's the one) is made using stale bread. Using stale bread allows more of the batter to be absorbed and its a good way to avoid wastage. I believe its meant to be a breakfast dish, but it can be used as a dessert dish as well.
So if you've got a craving for something sweet and impressive and need to use the bread before it starts to get a little gross-French Toast is here to save the day!

Recipe: Serves 2 or 1 greedy person (Adapted really loosely from BBC Food Website)

  • 2 free-range eggs
  • 100ml Almond Milk
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for frying
  • Your favourite fruit  or topping (strawberries, raspberries or blueberries are nice)
  • Honey, Maple syrup or Chantilly cream with a sprig of mint, is nice on top as well.
Equipment:
  • Frying Pan
  • Whisk
  • Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Plate

1.Whisk the eggs in a bowl with the milk, icing sugar and cinnamon until well combined.

2.Soak the bread slices in the mixture

3.Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the soaked bread for 2-3 minutes on both sides or until crispy and golden. Be cautious, the batter may spit at you while frying. (Its because this batter has no manners. Don't take offense that's what its like.)

4.Remove the fried bread from the pan and drain on kitchen paper and set aside to cool a little.

5.Chop up the fruit, if desired
 6. Arrange the warm toast, nicely, on the plate. Top with your favourite topping and stuff face.

Talk about indulgent breakfast! You'll be getting extra brownie points if you serve breakfast in bed.

Have a great weekend and Happy Baking!
